Volunteer Position Descriptions
Demonstration judges – responsible for critiquing both formal and action demonstrations between 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; the number of demonstrations given will divided among the judges available
Emcee for performances – responsible for announcing performances (declamations, solos, dancing, and skits); we need more than one emcee so that volunteers also have time to see other activities
Greeters/guides – responsible for greeting people at the door, leading them to the registration table, and helping attendees find rooms for project workshops
Performance coordinator – responsible for consolidating the list of performances, developing a schedule, and communicating to each group, duet, or single performer the time slot they have been assigned
Room monitors – volunteer needs to be VOLT-trained; responsible for monitoring a project workshop in either the morning (9-11) or the afternoon (1:30 – 3:30) for workshops where the leader is not VOLT-trained
Set up - Set up will occur after 6:00 p.m. until 8:30pm on Friday, October 2nd jobs consists of setting up tables and chairs
Sign-in table – responsible for helping people fill out registration form and making sure that the registration gets in the right box for the prize drawing; helps people connect with the guides to project workshop rooms
Sound technician – responsible for handling the sound equipment during the performances which occur from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Take down event – Take down will occur after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 3rd; jobs consists of putting away tables and chairs
All volunteers should indicate what time they can work and schedule a break for themselves so that they can eat and enjoy the event themselves.
